Chapter Scholarships

The Air Force Association’s D.W. Steele Chapter is now accepting applications for the 2021 STEM Scholarships Grant. Applicants will be evaluated on STEM focused studies and academic achievement in support of the Air Force mission (Active, Guard, Reserve, RTOC, JROTC, and CAP). Additionally, applicants will be evaluated on demonstrated leadership, community involvement, and academic/career goals.

STEM Scholarship Grants are open to the following:

  • Members of the Air Force (Active, Guard or Reserve) currently assigned to the National Capitol Region
  • D.W. Steele Chapter members
  • Spouses and children of the eligible members listed above. Note: The committee will evaluate graduating students who plan to declare a college major in STEM but have not yet done so on a case-by-case basis

STEM Scholarship Grants:

  • The D.W. Steele Chapter will award up to three grants. Two at $2000 and one at $1000 each. Awards will be based on the quality of the applicantions.
  • A list of STEM degrees can be found at: https://www.ice.gov/sites/default/files/documents/Document/2016/stem-list.pdf. Note: If you cannot find your major in this list, please contact us to determine if your major qualifies.

Deadline for receipt of applications is May 31, 2021.

Note: Application documents will not be returned.

Grant recipients will be recognized at a Chapter Membership Event: TBD.
